North Central Region 2026 Memorial Day Activities
North Central Region members and units participated in local community Memorial Day activities across all seven wings.

Iowa Wing
- IAWG’s Black Hawk County Composite Squadron color guard participated in the Fleet Farm Memorial Day Service event in Cedar Falls, IA.
- IAWG's Southwest Iowa Composite Squadron assisted the American Legion in Atlantic, IA, with their Memorial Day service in several capacities, including Color Guard, POW/MIA table, and wreath laying.
Minnesota Wing
- Members of MNWG's Viking Composite Squadron volunteered with the annual "Flags for Fort Snelling" event at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Their color guard posted and retired the colors at the Eden Prairie Veterans Memorial ceremony in Purgatory Creek City Park, Eden Prairie, MN; and also presented the colors for Taps Across America at Fleet Farm in Carver, MN.
- Cadets from MNWG’s 130th Composite Squadron participated in the Honoring All Veterans Memorial event in Richfield, MN.
- MNWG’s Skyhawk Composite Squadron cadets and color guard joined the Delano American Legion and others for the annual Memorial Day Parade, followed by a program at the Delano Centra Park, Delano, MN.
- MNWG’s Ft. Snelling Cadet Squadron led a local parade and then participated in the Memorial Day program at South St. Paul High School, South St. Paul, MN, presenting the Gettysburg Address and the POW/MIA table.
Missouri Wing
- Members of MOWG's Lake Ozark Regional and Central Missouri Composite Squadrons supporting the VFW Buddy Poppy Fundraiser at two locations in Jefferson City, MO.
- Members of MOWG’s Sedalia Cadet Flight supported the VFW Buddy Poppy Fundraiser in Sedalia, MO.
- Members of MOWG’s Springfield Regional Composite Squadron participated in events at the Veterans National Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
- Members of MOWG’s Central Missouri Composite Squadron assisted Antioch Cemetery in Columbia, MO, by locating veterans’ graves using GPS - finding 92% of needed sites. Then participated in the Gold Star Memorial Day parade and ceremony, also in Columbia, where the squadron was honored to carry the banners for the Gold Star families.
North Dakota Wing
- Members of NDWG’s Red River Valley Composite Squadron participated in Memorial Day events at Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, ND.
South Dakota Wing
- Members of SDWG's Sioux Falls and Lincoln County Composite Squadrons who helped place flags on veteran's graves at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.
